About The Position

Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Assistant at our West Jordan location with travel to Cottonwood Heights and Tooele as needed. Pain clinics in West Jordan and Cottonwood Heights, UT are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for students interested in pursuing medical school or a physician assistant program looking to obtain clinical hours, providing direct patient care in a medical setting. All shifts are weekday, business hours, no evenings or holidays. The Medical Assistant is an integral part of the healthcare team, working with physicians, PAs, nurses and Rad Techs to provide patients with an exceptional experience. The experience and knowledge to be gained with a position like this is great preparation for a future career as a clinician.

  • Excellent customer service skills - able to communicate courteously and effectively to patients.
  • Basic arithmetic, computer and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and multi-task oriented.
  • Enjoy working with people, being a team player and willing to help others with tasks.
  • Must be able to read, communicate and write well in English.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with physicians, clinic staff and patients.
  • High school diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous scribe experience preferred
  • Healthcare training or certification strongly desired
  • Additional languages helpful

Responsibilities

  • Prepare in advance required information for patient visits.
  • Greet, room and complete patient intake interview.
  • Convey patient intake information to treating provider, accompany provider during patient exam.
  • Accurately transcribe information into the chart as provider examines patient, discusses the treatment/plan of care.
  • Precisely & efficiently order/schedule/authorize recommended treatments.
  • Assist provider with educating patients on proposed treatment plan, procedure instructions and more.
  • Return patient phone calls in a timely manner, compassionately relaying information between provider & patient.
  • Adequately document all patient interactions in electronic medical record.
  • Assist procedure team with transferring patients from procedure table
  • Assist patients from wheelchair to recovery chair.
  • Obtain, document and communicate post-procedure vital signs to RN/physician.
  • Instruct patients on after-care instructions.
  • Provide patients with follow up plan, scheduling
  • Transport or assist patients out after recovery period.
  • Other duties as assigned.
