About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Scheduling Assistant - Resource Team is a per diem position with rotating hours between 6:45 am and 7 pm, working 8-hour shifts. This role requires travel to other sites based on department needs. The position is part of an integrated healthcare delivery system committed to providing quality, community-connected care. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.

Responsibilities

Answer phones
Schedule appointments
Collect co-payments
Complete patient registration
Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
Check in and check out patients
Verify insurances
Greet patients and escort them to exam room
Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
Provide front office support as needed
Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
Phlebotomy and injections may be required
