About The Position

A Medical Assistant resident with no prior medical assistant experience learns to work as medical assistant in a clinical setting. Medical Assistant – Residents are learning from Clinicians, Nurses, and Medical Assistants while on the job. Medical Assistant – Residents have accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant resident will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. This opening is specifically for Medical Assistant (MA) students currently enrolled at the MTEC campus. As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by: Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition. Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.

Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Must be obtained prior to start date.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program Or 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience Or current RN/LPN license
