Training Medical Assistant Resident Primary Care Clinic
About The Position
A Medical Assistant Resident has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. This position will require enrollment in a Medical Assistant program within 6 months of hire and completion of the program by one year of enrollment. This is a training position with on the job training to assist with this transition. From the start, you will be learning from Clinicians, Nurses, and Medical Assistants while on the job. Medical Assistant Residents have accountability for providing care to patients. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs and responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions. Furthering your growth, you will be required to enroll into a formal Medical Assisting program within six months of hire and complete within one year. As a Medical Assistant Resident at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by: Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition. Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.
Requirements
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare provider
- Required to enroll in a Medical Assistant program within six months of hire and complete within twelve months of enrollment.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a clinical role (EMT, CNA, Medic, paramedic)
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
