About The Position

This individual is responsible for patient preparation, as well as, assisting the physician with procedures and minor surgeries. Also performs various diagnostic tests and patient education in the clinic. Maintains equipment and acts as liaison between the physician and all outside agencies to include hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMO’s and other physician’s offices, as well as, with the patient. Supports other medical staff members as necessary to maintain patient flow. Unity Health has classified some positions as “safety sensitive.” A “safety sensitive” position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a “safety sensitive” position.

Requirements

• Certified or registered Medical Assistant from an accredited institution required (RMA)
• Understands the role of working as part of a medical care team
• Aware of limitations as well as responsibilities
• Skilled at effectively communicating with patients or their delegate

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 2 years Medical office experience preferred in clinical setting
• Lab experience preferred
• EKG experience preferred
• X-ray experience preferred
