The Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-R. The MA-R has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Must be eligible to become a Registered Medical Assistant in the state of Washington

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff Interviewing patients Obtaining vital signs Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers
  • Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical records Facilitating patient referrals Preparing forms for patients
