About The Position

The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within a busy Radiation Oncology setting. Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic Certification OR relative experience.
  • In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care under direction of provider and nurses, including but not limited to: Vitals, Allergy & medication reconciliation, Screenings, Patient history, Health maintenance, Advance directives, Virtual health.
  • Provides indirect patient care related to the Medical Assistant scope of education, including but not limited to: Scheduling, Work queues / Worklists, Check in/check out, Referrals, In-basket, Chart prep, Non-clinical patient result callbacks, Prior authorizations, Transportation facilitation.
  • Conducts point of care testing including quality control & documentation including but not limited to: EKG, Hemoglobin A1C, Urinalysis, Hemoglobin POCT, Urine toxicity, INR.
