About The Position

A Medical assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. This position is for a "Quality MA" who will work centrally to support primary care quality initiatives across the organization. The role is non–patient facing and focuses on managing and reviewing quality reports, completing detailed chart reviews, and conducting outreach calls to patients to close care gaps and support quality measures. Responsibilities include validating data accuracy, documenting findings in the EHR, coordinating follow-up needs with clinic teams, and supporting initiatives related to preventive care and chronic disease management. The position requires strong attention to detail, comfort working with quality metrics and reports, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with providers and care teams. Requirements

  • Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
  • Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software
  • Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA
  • If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program
