This role facilitates communication between the patient and the provider during patient care, collects and shares pertinent information, and acts on directives from the provider. The Medical Assistant is responsible for preparing the patient for their visit, which includes rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, removing dressings, procedure set-up, injection prep, and accurate data entry into the EMR. This position also completes tasks associated with company initiatives such as PROs and Quality Payment Programs. The Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining exam room standards, including restocking, cleaning, and monitoring biohazard and sharps containers. They will assist the provider in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms. This role requires retrieving and responding to voicemails within 24 business hours and documenting actions in the EMR. Additionally, the Medical Assistant prepares patient electronic charts for clinic visits, verifies outstanding testing results, confirms patient appropriateness for the provider, and notes imaging, DME, or casting needs. They will scan clinical documents into the EMR, print clinic schedules, and ensure patients receive education as indicated by the provider. This role manages provider EMR desktops, acts as a PTO Buddy, and promotes a positive patient experience while maintaining a HIPAA-compliant environment and a clean workspace.
