This role is responsible for facilitating communication between the patient and the provider during patient care, collecting and sharing pertinent information, and acting on directives from the provider. The Medical Assistant is also responsible for preparing the patient for their visit, which includes rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vitals, reviewing intake paperwork, pulling up radiology images, removing dressings, procedure set-up, injection prep, and accurate data entry into the EMR. Additionally, the role involves completing tasks associated with company initiatives, maintaining exam room standards (restocking, cleaning), monitoring biohazard and sharps containers, assisting the provider with prescriptions and forms, responding to voicemails within 24 business hours, preparing patient electronic charts, verifying outstanding testing results, scanning clinical documents into EMR, printing clinic schedules, ensuring patient education is provided, managing provider EMR desktops, acting as a PTO Buddy, and creating a positive patient experience while maintaining a HIPAA compliant environment and a clean workspace.
