About The Position

The Plastic Surgery Medical Assistant supports providers in delivering high-quality clinical and administrative care to patients in an ENT and Plastic Surgery practice. This role is responsible for patient intake, assisting with in-office procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient clinical environment, coordinating patient communications, and supporting pre- and post-operative care. The Plastic Surgery Medical Assistant demonstrates professionalism, strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, patient intake procedures, infection control standards, and clinical documentation practices required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a medical assistant program or relevant clinical training preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical office, surgical practice, dermatology, plastics, or a related specialty preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records, patient communication systems, and standard office software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain accurate patient intakes, including vital signs, history of present illness, medication history, surgical history, and documented allergies.
  • Perform administrative support duties, including answering messages, responding to patients through the patient portal, and ensuring pre-operative and post-operative instructions are communicated appropriately.
  • Assist with setup and support for in-office procedures and treatments under physician supervision, including mole removals, scar revisions, earlobe repairs, blepharoplasties, and laser resurfacing procedures.
  • Ensure patient and provider safety by accompanying providers during consultations and examinations that require the patient to disrobe, in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Capture appropriate before-and-after photographs to establish patient baselines and monitor treatment progress throughout the course of care.
  • Ensure patients leave with appropriate orders, medication instructions, educational materials, and answers to outstanding questions at discharge.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, medical equipment, and nursing stations to support efficient clinical operations.
