About The Position

Mass General Brigham is a not-for-profit organization that supports patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care through high-performing teams. The Mass General Brigham Medical Group, a system-led operating entity, delivers high-quality, low-cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care, bringing healthcare closer to patients. This includes primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, urgent care, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The team provides advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments with personalized care in a supportive environment. This per-diem Medical Assistant position is for the Plastic Surgery team, covering shifts Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, to fill staffing gaps due to call-outs, vacations, leaves, and vacancies. The role offers flexible options for full or partial shift coverage. It's a unique opportunity to work independently within a collaborative small office environment where teamwork is essential. Beyond traditional Medical Assistant duties, a significant part of the role involves managing a substantial volume of prior authorizations for procedures. The Medical Assistant supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers, including taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and interacting directly with patients to ensure comfort and address concerns, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.
