About The Position

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is seeking a Medical Assistant - Sports Medicine to perform a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for assigned clinic patients. This role is directed by the Clinic Director and/or Chief Nursing Officer to facilitate the delivery of prompt, quality care. FHCSD has a mission to provide caring, affordable, high-quality health care and supportive services to everyone, with a special commitment to uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved persons. FHCSD operates over 90 sites across San Diego County, offering a comprehensive range of services including primary care, behavioral health, physical rehabilitation, dental, vision, and more. We are one of the top 10 largest federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in the country and the largest community clinic provider of health care to the uninsured in the county.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent.
Medical Assistant diploma from an approved course.
Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training required.
Bilingual in English/ Spanish preferred.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience in ambulatory care setting or similar setting is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Attends in-services or completes make-up assignments.
Consistently follows Policies and Procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes.
Handles laboratory specimens appropriately.
Keeps sites in compliance with TJC, DHS, CHDP, and Medi-Cal Managed Care Requirements.
Performs Waive Testing and Phlebotomy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
