About The Position

Provide and assist participants with daily living activities, restorative, and supportive care. Monitor and report participants' health status and ensure a safe environment. This role involves assisting in participant care during exams and treatments, performing assessments, taking vital signs, and managing medication administration. The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist will also conduct lab specimen collection, EKGs, and other tasks as directed, provide ADL assistance, and maintain cleanliness in the clinic. Additionally, the role includes managing supplies, maintaining accurate documentation, and performing front desk duties such as participant check-ins and phone handling. Maintaining current written records, indicating ongoing documentation of services provided, reassessments of changing needs, and participant's expressed wishes is crucial.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program AND current Medical Assistant certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or must receive appropriate training upon hiring.
  • Must manage conflict well, be customer focused and be able to adapt to ongoing change regarding work priorities.
  • Demonstrates superior written/verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system.
  • Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with elderly or frail populations preferred.
