Requirements

  • Strong phlebotomy skills required
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a certified or formal medical training program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform a high volume of phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions
  • Set up, stock, and maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
  • Document patient care services utilizing daily logs, electronic medical records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels, ensure orders for lab work are in place
  • Check patients in/out, answer phones, schedule appointments, and collect payments
  • Provide clinical care of fertility patients
  • Set up rooms for procedures, take vital signs, obtain patient height and weight, assist with procedures as needed
  • Clean and stock rooms and care for equipment according to manufacturer and OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain patient medical records through the use of electronic medical records
