Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist Mount Kisco (Float to White Plains)
About The Position
US Fertility, a leading partnership of physician-led fertility practices, is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team at RMA of New York in Mount Kisco, New York. This role will also float to the White Plains, New York office. The position offers the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while maintaining close connections with patients and teams. The Medical Assistant will perform a high volume of phlebotomy, manage lab specimens, document patient care, utilize electronic medical records, handle patient check-in/out, answer phones, schedule appointments, collect payments, provide clinical care to fertility patients, set up rooms for procedures, take vital signs, assist with procedures, and maintain patient medical records.
Requirements
- Strong phlebotomy skills required
- High school diploma
- Computer proficiency required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and build and maintain effective working relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a certified or formal medical training program preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform a high volume of phlebotomy using proper technique and universal precautions
- Set up, stock, and maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
- Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
- Document patient care services utilizing daily logs, electronic medical records, and appropriate outside laboratory forms
- Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels, ensure orders for lab work are in place
- Check patients in/out, answer phones, schedule appointments, and collect payments
- Provide clinical care of fertility patients
- Set up rooms for procedures, take vital signs, obtain patient height and weight, assist with procedures as needed, clean and stock rooms and care for equipment according to manufacturer and OSHA guidelines
- Maintain patient medical records through the use of electronic medical records
