The Medical Assistant assists clinicians in providing healthcare at clinic locations, serving patients and the healthcare team by gathering and maintaining medical information in a cheerful, friendly, and personable manner. This role provides quality patient care and helps establish rapport between the clinician and patient.

Requirements

  • Experience in a medical office setting
  • Experience with PC and Microsoft office
  • Ability to work until 8pm, two nights a week plus two Saturdays a month
  • Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant certification
  • 1+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant performing front and clinical back-office duties
  • Experience working with EPIC EMR software

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient histories and vital signs and records accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment and documents chief complaints
  • Assists in other specialties as necessary
  • Retrieves laboratory and radiology test results and instructs patients regarding medications and treatment per clinician’s instructions
  • Stocks supplies and prepares exam rooms and instruments for examinations, testing, or minor surgeries
  • Potential for heavy phone usage. Responds to incoming phone calls and refers if necessary. Calls patients as necessary to follow up and/or schedule appointments
  • Obtain prior authorizations as necessary
  • Assist with other specialties within the suite as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned
