About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work within the Medical Group Urology practice, providing essential support to physicians and patients. This role involves a mix of administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the front office and assisting with patient care. The position requires travel between Glenview and Evanston sites and is offered on a per diem, as-needed basis, with hours typically Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
- One year of work experience required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
- Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
