About The Position

This is a part-time, onsite role for a Medical Assistant / Patient Services Coordinator at Low T in Johnson City, Tennessee, requiring up to 20 hours per week. The position is described as dynamic and patient-focused, involving greeting patients, answering questions, supporting providers, assisting in the clinical area, and handling front-office responsibilities to ensure smooth clinic operations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least 6 months of back-office Medical Assistant experience OR a completed externship
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and injections independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine desire to help patients feel comfortable, respected, and cared for
  • Energetic and naturally positive
  • Friendly and comfortable talking with all kinds of people

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients with a warm, confident, and positive attitude
  • Check patients in and make them feel comfortable from the moment they arrive
  • Answer phones, messages, and patient questions
  • Help patients understand insurance benefits, payments, and costs
  • Process payments and maintain accurate patient information
  • Assist with scheduling and daily administrative tasks
  • Keep the front desk and waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Jump in wherever needed to keep the clinic moving
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs
  • Perform phlebotomy and injections independently
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures
  • Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing according to protocol
  • Prepare lab requisitions and patient plans
  • Room patients efficiently and help keep patient flow moving
  • Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms
  • Process patient specimens according to established protocols
  • Complete required clinical documentation and quality-control logs
  • Help maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory
