About The Position

The MA/PSR performs patient oriented procedures with the ability to work with and evaluate specific age groups and tasks within the scope of their education and training, under the supervision of a physician or licensed staff person. The MA/PSR monitors & controls patient flow for check-in, check-out, and appointment procedures. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant (MA) program
  • Minimum one year Medical Assistant experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English with professional quality
  • Ability to use computer and software programs necessary to the position
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
  • Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies
  • Ability to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Ability to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate
  • Ability to accept direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone
  • Ability to think critically
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform basic math functions

  • Ability to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position
  • Ability to discern temperature variances through touch
