About The Position

Christie Clinic's department of Family Medicine in Arthur is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative Specialist. This role operates Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with no night or weekend requirements. The primary duties involve performing patient care skills through systematic patient assessment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants
CPR Certification

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner and solicit customer feedback to improve service.
Demonstrate the ability to promptly answer a high volume of phone calls and schedule patient appointments with providers.
Provide check-in process for patients.
Verify and update necessary demographic and insurance information.
Apply co-payments, as needed.
Maintain provider schedules.
Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment.
Clean and restock rooms at the end of the day.
Perform chart preparation according to department standards.
Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit, including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
Appropriate use of flag system per standard work.
Review and respond to the electronic medical record work list per department standard work.
Complete lab order entries and appropriately handle patient specimens (including communication to patient per department standard work), as needed.
Assists providers with procedures/surgery, as needed.
Assist in patient education relating to medication instructions, procedures, wound care or any other necessary information pertaining to patient care.
Successfully complete the immunization training program within one year of hire.
Perform related work as required.
