About The Position
This position is for a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant at Endeavor Health in Chicago, IL. The role is full-time and involves a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks within a physician practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patient interaction, scheduling, co-payment collection, registration, insurance verification, and basic clinical duties. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
- One year of work experience required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
