About The Position

Sun River Health is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant/Patient Representative to support our Coram location. This role assists patients and the clinical team by performing various administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring efficient patient access to services. The position involves patient registration, managing appointments, and supporting the medical care team. The ideal candidate will be patient-centered, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse population.

Requirements

High School diploma/ GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate
0-1 year of related work experience

Responsibilities

Completes the rooming process and takes vital signs, vision, and/or hearing tests.
Records patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain level, PEAS, PhQ, Smoke status, etc.
Documents the reason for the visit.
Performs in-house labs and collects specimens for outside labs (e.g., Pap, cultures).
Performs quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
Keeps the clinical area stocked and in good order.
Ensures all dated material is current and disposes of outdated supplies.
Cleans and sterilizes all equipment and logs each time this service is performed.
Performs basic clerical work in the service area, answers phones appropriately, and communicates problems/concerns to the nurse.
Handles telephone inquiries.
Ensures all appropriate logs are maintained.
Verifies all insurance and sets fees based on the sliding scale fee.
Consults with medical staff to link patients to services through the provision of ancillaries such as translation, transportation assistance, and application assistance.
Facilitates patient care within different departments of SRH and outside agencies.
Responsible for telephone and mail contact with patients.
