American Endovascular is looking for an experienced Per Diem Certified Medical Assistant/ Patient Escort in the Putnam County, Dutchess county, Westchester County area. Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Medical Assistant School Graduate
  • Registered Medical Assistant issued by the state of NY.
  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Phlebotomy certification is required.
  • Medical assisting, phlebotomy, and specimen processing are essential for performing clinical tasks accurately and safely on a daily basis.
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and sterilization ensures that the work environment remains hygienic and compliant with healthcare standards.
  • Drawing blood and taking vital signs are routine responsibilities that require precision and patient care sensitivity.
  • Answering phones and coordinating with nurse practitioners demand strong communication and organizational skills to maintain efficient clinic operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support physicians and nurses in daily operations.
  • Serve as a scribe to document patient reports.
  • Welcome and guide patients through their visits.
  • Record vital signs and collect lab samples.
  • Gather and update medical and medication history.
  • Ensure supplies are stocked and equipment is cleaned.
  • Maintain a sterile and organized pre- and post-op environment.
  • Assist patients with scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
  • Uphold professionalism in all patient and healthcare interactions.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations for office visits and ultrasounds.
  • Handle incoming calls and schedule patient referrals.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.
  • Escort patients from nursing homes to vascular centers and back.
  • Visit nursing homes prior to appointment dates to ensure patients are prepped for procedures, including confirming that they haven't eaten and that all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Arrange and confirm transportation logistics for patients.
  • Assist patients with mobility and ensure their comfort during transport and at appointments.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing home staff, patients, and vascular center staff to ensure smooth coordination.
