About The Position

Founded as Boulder Hospice in 1976, TRU Community Care is a nonprofit healthcare organization serving Boulder, Denver, and surrounding counties. With a mission to affirm life at every step of the journey with illness and loss, TRU provides a continuum of care through TRU Hospice, TRU PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), TRU Palliative Care, TRU Grief Services, and Landmark Memory Care. We are hiring a Medical Assistant to support our PACE clinic team. This role works directly with participants, providers, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to help keep clinic visits running smoothly and on time. The Medical Assistant supports both clinical and front-desk responsibilities, including rooming participants, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, scheduling appointments, answering clinic calls, and documenting daily activities in the electronic health record. This is a hands-on, participant-facing role that is a good fit for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and working with older adults.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant certification required
  • BLS/CPR certification required or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred
  • Customer service, scheduling, front desk, or clinic coordination experience preferred
  • Experience working with older adults, frail populations, or interdisciplinary care teams preferred

Responsibilities

  • Room participants, take vital signs, and prepare participants for clinic visits
  • Assist providers, physicians, and nurses with exams, treatments, and minor procedures within scope of practice
  • Perform blood draws, finger sticks, injections, specimen collection, EKGs, and other clinic procedures as trained and assigned
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in participant condition to clinical staff
  • Help manage clinic flow through scheduling, check-in/check-out, phone calls, messages, and appointment follow-up
  • Document care, results, procedures, and daily activities in the electronic health record
  • Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and help ensure clinic areas are clean, organized, and ready for use
  • Follow PACE policies, OSHA safety guidelines, standard precautions, and confidentiality requirements
