As a Medical Assistant on the Orthopedics team, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff, you will support medication management, patient monitoring, and a variety of clinical and office tasks. This position offers broad clinical exposure through hands-on involvement in patient care, compliance, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position could Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm or 4:00pm and 8:00pm.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)
  • Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship)
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period)
  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
  • Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
