As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors. Working collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff, you will support medication management, patient monitoring, and a variety of clinical and office tasks, including assisting with suture and staple removal, dressing changes, DME application, and casting. This position offers broad clinical exposure through hands-on involvement in patient care, compliance responsibilities, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams. A caregiver in this role works days from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee)
  • Completion of a clinical externship OR Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period)
  • Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
  • Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assisting Certification
  • Successful completion of Cleveland Clinic Externship
  • Interested in casting and bracing

Responsibilities

  • Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
  • Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
  • Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
  • Assist with suture and staple removal, dressing changes, DME application, and casting.
