This Medical Assistant or LPN position is in the General Surgery/Plastic Surgery department and involves assisting the RN, Physician, and other providers, providing direct patient care in an ambulatory care setting, and performing identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated. Patients range in age from newborn to elderly.

Requirements

Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in appropriate state (Minnesota, Wisconsin), OR current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant OR Verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program and must become certified within one year of date of hire. (Must pass certification within two attempts)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
Support physicians and other providers during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement workflows to support efficient and high-quality clinic patient experiences.
