About The Position

Franciscan Health Carmel is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN for Clay Township Family Medicine. This is a full-time position with a consistent day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with observed holidays off. The role involves providing direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining medical history, documenting care in an electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing, and medication reconciliation under the supervision of an RN/Provider. The position also requires gathering requirements from customers and providing information via phone, electronic messaging, and in person. Additionally, the role involves initiating and following through on prior authorizations, referrals, and processing sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Program Medical Assisting Required
• In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients
• Taking vitals
• Obtaining a comprehensive medical history
• Documenting care of patient via electronic medical record
• Administering vaccines, injections, and medications
• Phlebotomy
• Point of care testing
• Medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider
• Gathering requirements from internal and external customers
• Providing information via phone, electronic messaging and in person
