About The Position

INTEGRIS Health, Oklahoma’s largest not-for-profit health system, is seeking a dedicated caregiver to join us in our mission to partner with people to live healthier lives. This is a day shift, full-time position at the INTEGRIS Health Medical Group Primary Care Outpatient Clinic in Woodward, OK. The role involves providing direct patient care, including taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab work, X-rays, referrals, and managing patient phone messages, as directed by a provider and/or clinical supervisor. The Medical Assistant gathers and documents patient information, contributes to assessments, monitors patient status, and participates in developing and implementing care plans. The Clinic Nurse role also involves direct patient care and utilizes the nursing process under physician supervision, monitoring for changes in patient status, reporting to physicians, promoting patient satisfaction, ensuring confidentiality, and performing various procedures.

Requirements

Current nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification/registration; OR 6 of months of clinic MA experience
6 months of customer service experience preferred
CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of employment
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NCLEX) member state.
BLS and/or ACLS as required by department.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient phone messages as directed by the provider and/or clinical supervisor.
Gathers and documents information about patient condition, which include lab values, pain levels, patient education needs, nutritional status and potential complications.
Contributes to the assessment/re-assessment of patients.
Monitors and documents patient status.
Participates in the development of the plan of care, including implementation and evaluation of appropriate patient care interventions which may include medication administration (exclusive of narcotics).
Manages large call volume while maintaining excellent telephone etiquette.
Organizes workflow to meet patient needs in a timely manner.
May retrieve and transport medications.
Reports to assigned clinic manager, supervisor or lead.
Assumes responsibility for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process, under the supervision of a physician.
Monitors for signs and systems related to abnormal lab values, and deviation from baseline assessments.
Reports changes in patient status to the physician and initiate any new orders from the physician as directed.
Promotes patient satisfaction and ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
Participates in charge management to ensure chart accuracy with each visit.
Reports suspected abuse and refers patient/family to appropriate health or social resource.
Performs Venipuncture, EKG, Waived Testing, Bone Density, X Ray, and other procedures as assigned by the physician, manager or clinical supervisor.
Performs sterilization of equipment after a procedure is performed.
