About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant or LPN in a Surgery Clinic at University Health Truman Medical Center. The position is full-time, working 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. The job involves patient care in a fast-paced, supportive, and rewarding environment, working alongside providers and teammates to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient outcomes. The role requires a passion for patient care, multitasking abilities, and a desire to make a difference in healthcare.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NRCMA, or CCMA) - Required at time of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current BLS Certification (or ability to obtain before starting).
  • Knowledge of POCT, Immunizations, and Injections
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent Organization & Time Management
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft applications and EMR systems.
  • Radiology Certification (if applicable) - If the role requires X-ray functions, you must have radiology training from your MA program or a validated competency checklist.

Responsibilities

  • Prep charts, check vitals, and prepare patients for care.
  • Administer medications, give immunizations, and collect specimens.
  • Assist with minor procedures such as wound care and suture removal.
  • Maintain patient records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Support providers and participate in team huddles.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, new medications, and follow-up care.
