About The Position

Responsible to provide administrative and clinical assistance including patient preparation and pre-screening, equipment preparation and performing patient care in a clinic setting. This position may also do some light scribing for medical providers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) plus years of relevant medical assistant work experience.
Knowledge of medical office procedures and the ability to interact with patients, physicians and co-workers.

Nice To Haves

CPR/AED Certification.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
Completed Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) program.
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists.
Spanish Speaking.

Responsibilities

Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
Prepare patient for examination by performing preliminary physical tests including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
Ensure information is accurately documented.
Prepare equipment, injections, educational materials, etc. during treatment and examination of patients.
Perform patient care including cast application/removal, splinting, post-op wound care, injections, fitting patients for braces and suture and staple removal.
Communicate with patients and families regarding processes and procedures.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Maintain adequate supplies in examination rooms.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Attend departmental meetings as required.
Scribe for providers.
