As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide comprehensive, culturally responsive care across every stage of life, including primary care, pediatrics, women's health, behavioral health, dental, optometry, dermatology, pharmacy, laboratory services, and care coordination. Position Summary Eisner Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant – Optometry to join our team in Lynwood. In this role, you will work closely with the optometrist to support comprehensive eye care for patients across the lifespan. You will help create a welcoming patient experience while supporting efficient clinical workflows, performing routine optometric testing, preparing patients for examinations, and ensuring accurate documentation. The ideal candidate has at least one year of Medical Assistant experience in an optometry setting , enjoys working directly with patients, and is comfortable in a fast-paced community health environment. Requirements

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
At least one year of Medical Assistant experience in an optometry setting required.
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification prior to hire.
Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

Experience performing optometric pre-testing, including visual acuity, visual fields, tonometry, and lensometry, strongly preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
Experience working with patients across the lifespan, including children, preferred.

Responsibilities

Welcome and prepare patients for their optometry visits by obtaining medical and vision histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent information.
Perform routine, non-invasive optometric pre-testing as directed by the optometrist, which may include visual acuity, visual fields, tonometry, lensometry, and other testing within your training, competency, and applicable California requirements.
Assist optometrists during examinations and procedures by preparing patients, rooms, equipment, and supplies and providing clinical support throughout the visit.
Accurately document patient histories, test results, clinical information, and services in the EHR and ensure information is available for provider review.
Reinforce provider-directed education related to eye health, medications, contact lens care, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments.
Support referrals, scheduling, follow-up care, patient communication, and other clinical coordination activities.
Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms and equipment while following infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Promote a positive patient experience by supporting efficient patient flow and providing compassionate, culturally responsive care.
Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and team initiatives that support the delivery of high-quality optometry services.
