About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant in Oncology at Ascension Sacred Heart Medical Oncology Group Airport in Pensacola, FL. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. They will also assist with treatments under provider supervision, perform clinical duties, and provide administrative support such as managing patient records, answering calls, and charting. A key responsibility includes documenting provider-patient encounters, detailing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions, as well as transcribing patient orders for labs, testing, and medications.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association OR American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
1 year of medical assistant experience.
Medical assistant education and training.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) preferred.
