As a Medical Assistant -- Occupational Health, you will have the opportunity to support the onboarding of new caregivers and address ongoing health needs for existing caregivers. You will also support patients. In this role, you'll be responsible for drawing blood and working alongside a team of occupational health professionals, including Nurses and Patient Service Specialists. This is the ideal role for an individual who provides care with empathy and confidentiality and is aligned with our values of quality, safety and teamwork. In this role, you'll benefit from working closely with a leader who is focused on caregiver health and development. A caregiver in this position works swing shifts from 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This position will rotate shifts between Marymount Sports Health Center and Main Campus.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program
Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered
Demonstrated clinical proficiency
Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period

Successful completion of a CC Externship

Responsibilities

Utilize medical and administrative skills to support patients and caregivers.
Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assist with performing assessments and treatments.
Gather and update information related to health maintenance and specimen collection.
Document patient care.
Identify medication changes and update allergies at each visit.
Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
Administer specific medications under the direction of a physician.
Maintain exam rooms, equipment and medical supplies.
Assist in pre-visit planning and updating health maintenance tabs.
Complete filing, reception duties, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
Travel to other Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.
