The Medical Assistant (MA) in the OB/GYN office provides clinical and administrative support to physicians, midwives, and advanced practice providers to ensure efficient patient care delivery. This role involves direct patient care, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, assisting with examinations and procedures, and performing basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection and point-of-care testing. The MA also supports care coordination by managing patient flow, documenting in the electronic medical record, coordinating referrals, scheduling, and responding to patient inquiries. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to support patients through sensitive reproductive and women’s health concerns are essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining patient confidentiality and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
