About The Position

Schweiger is a leading dermatology practice with a significant national presence, offering medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology and allergy services. They are committed to providing the Ultimate Patient Experience and fostering a positive work environment. This role is for a Part-Time Medical Assistant specializing in Mohs procedures at their West Orange, NJ office. The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing high-quality medical, surgical, clinical, and clerical tasks. Previous healthcare, dermatology, surgical, or plastic surgery experience is required. The schedule is part-time, less than 30 hours per week, with availability Monday through Friday between 7 am and 7 pm, and flexibility to support the team is needed.

Requirements

  • Previous healthcare experience is required
  • Dermatology/Surgical/Plastic Surgery experience is required
  • Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems
  • Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Excellent patient relation and customer services skills
  • Open availability to work during weekdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and for respective provider(s)
  • Assist physician in medical, surgical, and cosmetic procedures
  • Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorization and procedures within established guidelines
  • Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
  • Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
  • Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
  • Daily scan all medical supplies and alert Head MA and/or GM of any low level supplies
  • Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
  • Attend all in-house training and continued education opportunities
