About The Position

This is a Full Time Medical Assistant position at Artesia General Hospital. The role requires obtaining and documenting patient vitals, performing bedside testing, and basic nursing procedures. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of examination rooms, cleaning and storing equipment, managing supply inventory, and performing basic clerical duties. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; plus specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
• Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required.
• Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.
• Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
• Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
• Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

Nice To Haves

• Clinic setting experience preferred.
• Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient vitals.
• Perform bedside testing.
• Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications.
• Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms.
• Clean and store equipment.
• Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required.
• Perform basic clerical duties as needed.
• As assigned.
