About The Position

Crownview Co-Occurring Institute is looking for a highly motivated full-time Medical Assistant for a fast-paced mental health/substance abuse treatment facility. This role will assist the Nurse Practitioner with scheduling patient's treatments, administering oral and injectable medications, invoicing treatments, and collecting payments.

  • Data Entry, Excel, and POS skills (1-2 years)
  • Experience in giving injections
  • Basic insurance knowledge is required

  • Flexible to take on new responsibilities/tasks as they come
  • Knowledge and desire to learn about insurance, Medication and prior authorizations.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word
  • 2+ years in the medical field
  • Understand and comply with HIPAA and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification Required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Attainment of at least 18 years of age
  • A Health Screening with negative TB Test Results
  • Current CPR/ First Aid certification.
  • D.L. Required
  • EMR systems: 2 years (Required)
  • Vital signs: 2 years (Required)
  • Phlebotomy: 2 years (Required)
  • Administering injections: 1 year (Required)
  • Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience, including one year of experience in behavioral health care, preferred.
  • Electronic Health Record experience preferred
  • Mental Health experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Scribe and communicate pertinent information to/from providers
  • Obtain medication authorizations and appeals
  • Medication refills/requests with local pharmacy staff
  • Administer oral and injectable medications
  • Document all medication updates / changes in Electronic Health Records
  • Assists in other Administrative Department tasks / duties as necessary
  • Inventory management experience
