Medical Assistants play a key role in delivering medical care, supporting medical staff, and ensuring seamless operations at the facility.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant degree/certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in Drug and Alcohol/Mental Health settings is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations and applicable laws/regulations, DDAP, CARF.
  • General office skills and organizational ability.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and complete documentation and filing to support medical staff.
  • Complete medical records accurately and timely.
  • Assist with the admissions and consent process for clients, and provide ongoing support during medical appointments.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and urine screens for medical team review.
  • Complete lab requisitions upon admission and as needed; monitor outcomes and review with the medical team.
  • Create and distribute client packets.
  • Maintain a safe physical environment for all clients.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients; communicate and document changes in client status effectively.
  • Support prior authorization and medication ordering processes as needed.
  • Schedule follow-up medical appointments and make external referrals for clients as directed by the medical team.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
