About The Position

Multifaceted healthcare support position focused on enhancing patient care, provider efficiency, and clinical operations. This role combines direct patient care responsibilities—such as obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting with procedures, administering treatments, and maintaining exam rooms—with detailed medical documentation and real-time scribing support for physicians and providers. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and technical skills to accurately manage electronic medical records, coordinate provider schedules, support follow-up care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Serving as a key liaison between patients, providers, and healthcare facilities, the Medical Assistant / Medical Scribe plays an essential role in ensuring safe, compassionate, timely, and patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant clinical experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Fast and accurate typing skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), browser-based applications, and Microsoft Office or similar software platforms
  • Ability and willingness to travel between clinic or provider locations as needed
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), or equivalent credential preferred
  • One year of experience in medical assisting, medical scribing, transcription, or patient care preferred
  • Previous experience in a healthcare, outpatient clinic, hospice, palliative care, or provider office setting preferred
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations
