Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN - Urgent Care

Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. Medical Assistants and Licensed Practical Nurses must adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. They are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and compassion during all interactions. Actual compensation offered in the Pay Range of $21.85- $32.80 for an MA or $24.10 - $36.15 for an LPN and will be based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience and/or training. About This Location: Aurora Urgent Care in Oconomowoc, WI, offers in-person care for a variety of minor illnesses and injuries that need immediate attention but aren’t an emergency. Our walk-in clinic is open extended hours, making it a convenient option to get care after hours or if you can’t get in to see your primary care provider. How to get urgent care You can choose the time you’d like to come in for care based on current wait times. You also can walk in for care. Based on your symptoms, you may have the option to be seen using virtually assisted care technology. With our virtually assisted care visits, you'll meet with a clinician over video while our in-person care team assists with your exam. This innovative care model enables us to assess your ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs and skin using advanced digital equipment. Our virtually assisted care visits use safe and secure technology to treat minor illnesses such as sore throat or the flu in a comfortable and private environment. Your feedback matters. Requirements
- LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
- MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
- LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing
- MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
- Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
