Support the care team by performing clinical and administrative tasks that are vital to patient care. About This Location: Main Location: Aurora St. Luke’s South Shore-5900 S Lake Dr., Cudahy, WI. This position also requires travel to Southpointe (6901 W Edgerton Ave., Greenfield, WI) as well as Aurora Sinai Medical Center at (945 N 12th Street, Milwaukee, WI). The Neurology program at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center (ASLMC) provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for brain, spine, and nervous system conditions. Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the team treats complex movement, memory, and neuromuscular disorders. This role will include working closely with a multiple sclerosis physician and another RN. Requirements

  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing
  • MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
  • LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
