The Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN will be responsible for preparing and rooming patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information. They will perform laboratory procedures, assist physicians with procedures and surgeries, and administer medications under physician orders. The role also involves providing basic patient education, following up on necessary requests, and communicating with the healthcare team. Advanced clinical tasks may be performed under supervision. The position requires organizing and preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. Patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, will also be part of the role. Routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment are expected. Participation in patient-centered initiatives and quality improvement activities is also a responsibility. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles.
