As a Medical Assistant/LPN, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will welcome patients and support their transition into care, take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings, prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures, administer medications and vaccines as directed, perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing, document care accurately in the electronic health record, and partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care. The Aurora Breast Surgery Clinic – West Allis is a specialty outpatient clinic focused on breast health and cancer care, providing evaluation, surgical treatment, and post-operative follow-up. The clinic operates in a multidisciplinary setting, working closely with oncology and imaging teams, and emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care with a strong focus on education, coordination, and supporting patients through sensitive diagnoses and treatments. Requirements

  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
