About The Position

This is a full-time Medical Assistant position within Specialty Clinics at Advocate Health. The role involves welcoming patients, taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting providers, administering medications and vaccines, performing lab tasks, and documenting care in the electronic health record. The position emphasizes teamwork and high-quality, coordinated care within an ambulatory care setting. Some positions may require travel within the Greater Milwaukee Area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
• Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
