This full-time Medical Assistant II position in Urology, within the WFBMG University Group Practice at High Point Gatewood, is responsible for adhering to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, following all policies and procedures, and maintaining competency. The role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with procedures, perform lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling, and conduct Point of Care testing. They will also administer medications and vaccines safely, complete CLIA-waived tests, and assist with various administrative tasks like medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. Effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment are essential. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and interpret patient needs based on their age-specific requirements.
