About The Position

The 426 Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Family Medicine is a bustling and dedicated practice at Corewell Health, comprising a team of doctors, advanced practice providers (APPs), behavioral health specialists, pharmacists, population health nurses, and nurse care managers. This team is committed to providing primary care for patients of all ages, fostering strong relationships with patients, their families, and colleagues in a supportive and compassionate environment. The support staff includes registered nurses (RNs), medical assistants/ambulatory clinical technicians (MA/ACTs), and patient service representatives (PSRs), all crucial for smooth operations and high-quality care delivery. Medical Assistants specifically assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and occasionally assisting in minor procedures. Candidates should be adaptable, detail-oriented, efficient in multitasking, and possess strong organizational and communication skills to ensure smooth office operations and excellent patient care. Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering diverse care options and opportunities for staff to learn and specialize in various primary care and specialty practices. As a Medical Assistant, you will be a vital member of the clinical support team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible care and make a real difference in patients' lives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a competency-based medical assistant training program
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and occasionally assisting in minor procedures
