Ultimate Medical Academy is a non-profit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus. As an Instructor, you will empower students by delivering engaging and effective instruction. You collaborate closely with program leaders and other departments to enhance student success, foster retention, support certification, celebrate graduation milestones, and facilitate successful career placements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and academic preparation in the specific courses being taught.
  • 15 semester credit hours in the subject field for Healthcare Instructor.
  • Academic preparation in the specific courses taught.
  • 3+ years’ occupational experience.
  • An industry certification/licensure if consistent with employment in the healthcare field of instruction (all certifications/licensures must remain active and be maintained as required by State and/or accrediting commissions).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in higher in education, healthcare management, communication, nursing, or general studies.
  • Experience applying adult learning principles and practices to blended learning.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to inspire students to meet career goals by tying course curriculum to potential career outcomes.
  • Learning Management Systems, Student Information Systems, synchronous instructional tools.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the standardized distance education curriculum according to an assigned schedule.
  • Facilitate discussion forums and interactive course posts to promote student interaction and engagement.
  • Host weekly office hours.
  • Grade course activities and post grades on a weekly basis.
  • Proactively track student performance and provide timely academic feedback.
  • Create learning support tools tailored to students’ demonstrated needs.
  • Provide academic feedback in a constructive, positive, and timely manner.
  • Adhere to policies, maintain an up-to-date faculty file, and communicate effectively with program leadership and students per established expectations and timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
