About The Position

IBMC College is currently recruiting for qualified teaching professionals to join our team as Medical Assisting Adjunct Instructor at our Fort Collins campus. You can make a difference in someone's life by sharing your professional experience as a MA Instructor. The purpose of this position is to deliver educational curriculum and lesson knowledge to students in a classroom setting and support instructor needs of the educational department.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree and 3 years of industry experience, or 5 years of industry experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including morning, afternoon, and/or evening classes at all campuses.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to deliver education materials to diverse students in a classroom setting.
  • Ability to follow directions within established guidelines.
  • Ability to travel to all campuses as needed or requested.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification (RMA or CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class instruction/lecture and hands-on training as required by course content in two and/or four hour class format every five weeks.
  • Teach three classes across shifts as scheduled by Faculty Manager every session (5 weeks).
  • Prepare for classroom lecture and hands-on training activities daily.
  • Complete administrative type preparation support work required per class including grading, curriculum support (as required), hosting study groups, tutoring students and observing classes for 6 (six) hours weekly at the campus. You will post hours of support weekly.
  • Mentor new instructors every five weeks as needed including existing instructors who are teaching a class for the first time if requested). Perform follow-up meetings and report outcomes to Faculty Manager weekly.
  • Substitute teach classes as needed or assigned by Faculty Manager (based on qualifications of instructor).
  • Attend department, campus, and company meetings as requested by Faculty Manager.
  • Attend student retention events (assemblies, graduation).
  • Provide support to Coach regarding attendance issues with classes (students missing). Reach out if necessary.
  • Coordinate/host review and proctor licensure exams as requested by Faculty Manager if applicable to program area of emphasis (subject matter expertise).
  • Assist Career Services and Education department with externship site visits and grading if applicable as requested by Faculty Manager.
  • Participate in faculty and professional development as required by credentialing agency.
  • Availability to teach a 4th class based on business needs, instructor qualification, Faculty Manger approval with a maximum of up to three (3) times per year ONLY.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all work information.
